I’ve always been fascinated by words.

When my teacher told me to look up a word in second grade, I wound up reading the whole dictionary. Words are fascinating to me and always have been.

I graduated cum laude from Princeton University with a degree in English, and practiced law at Vinson & Elkins LLP  for several years. I now live in Houston with my husband, two dogs, and a cat, and am an avid accidental gardener.

I'm thrilled to visit classrooms across the Houston area to teach creative writing as a Writer-in-residence with the Writers In The Schools (WITS) program. Writing poetry with young students, I have the opportunity to help others find their voice and inspire storytelling in new and unexpected ways.

When not writing my own pieces, I work as a creative writing instructor and college essay coach. My work has been published in books like Women Under Scrutiny, featured in online publications including The Princeton Alumni Weekly and The Houston Chronicle. I’m also a member of WiVLA (Women in the Visual and Literary Arts), Houston Writers Guild, and the Writers League of Texas.
