I’ve always been fascinated by words.

When my teacher told me to look up a word in second grade, I wound up reading the whole dictionary. Words are fascinating to me and always have been. I graduated cum laude from Princeton University with a degree in English, and after practicing law at Vinson & Elkins LLP in Houston for several years, “retired” to raise my now grown children.

As a Writer in Residence with the Writers In The Schools (WITS) program, I'm thrilled to visit classrooms across the Houston area to teach creative writing. Writing poetry with young students, I have the opportunity to help others find their voice and inspire storytelling in new and unexpected ways.

I’m working as a creative writing instructor, college essay coach, and aspiring novelist. My work has been published in Women Under Scrutiny, featured in online publications including Grown and Flown, Living the Second Act, Literary Mama, as well as The Princeton Alumni Weekly and The Houston Chronicle.
